Sigma Director is the Subject of Local Artist's Work - 28th January 2008

Simon Crew, director of Sigma Property Services, is now the subject of a successful local artist, Catherine Barnes.

Catherine created the piece to the left around Christmas time. It was created from a photograph taken of Simon Crew whilst he was carrying-out the interior works for her new purpose-built studio in Chichester. She has also created other pieces of Simon, and during an exhibition in London recently, one of Simon Crew was amongst the works of hers which were sold.

Catherine Barnes studied at Camberwell School of Art and Goldsmiths' College. Working and exhibiting in London, she is a founder member of the Greenwich Printmakers, and worked at Kelpra Studio. In 1984, she moved to Winchester to establish Juno Studio. She became a visiting lecturer in Art History at the University of Southampton, and a visiting artist at Southampton City Art Gallery.
